WOW!

I thought i was the only one that didn`t want to pay an arm and a leg for gun mats. one roll of the shelf liner i bought covered two work benches and lined my gun racks. works great and cheap too, and you have a ton of colors to choose from.

Thanks

Thanks carnaby, I've been looking for something like that.
Great Tip!

Does it come in green, with little yellow duckies?:p
I went xtra cheap - large piece of plastic I slip over the table when cleaning.

Yeh, I use it, too. They are selling a tool box liner now that supposedly prevents or inhibits rust. I haven't tried it yet, but I need to, due to the high humidity down here.

I've gotten mats from swap meet / lowes / home depot. I had once found an ooold over sized computer mouse pad that I used for a while.

I'm still using the retractable cargo cover from my old '86 Subaru wagon. Slice the roller off one end and the handle off the other and you're done. They make nice big mats.

Thank's for the tip. I went to Lowes and found a roll of white mat. My old eyes see the small parts a lot better against the white background.

Hmmm, I'm not completely sure, but it seems to hold up just fine. Haven't really torture tested it yet. It's a simple rubbery sort of thing, seems to be inert, so it shouldn't react to solvents.

i got a bunch of cloth placemats at a yard sale. they have flowers and junk on em, but they are good for laying out parts while cleaning.
