You missed the best

Without a BERETTA 84 and SIG 232 in your collection, you have missed the best.

I love my Colt Government 380. Grats on finding one. It took me months to find a good shooter at a decent price. It is heavy and has a locked breech, so the recoil is minimal. I have two other medium-sized 380's, a Russian Makarov (commercial) and a Beretta 84. All three are in the "medium-sized, soft recoil, good accuracy" category of 380's.

My other is a Kel-Tec P3AT. It is in the "tiny pocket-sized" category of 380's.

I think that those are two niches that the 9mm can't serve as well.

Of all the 380 pistols I have shot I rate the G42 at the top followed by the P238 and then the Bersa Thunder.

Bersa at Academy Sports

My local Sunday newspaper had a flyer advertising Bersa Thunder .380 ACP, single stack 7 rd. capacity for $289.99. It didn't indicate this was local only, that I could see. Prices good 6-28-15 through 7-04-15.

Currently waiting on a Remington RM380... yeah after the R51 fall out I am still willing to give them a shot.

If they can make the Rohrbaugh 380 work, it will be a nice pocket pistol.

I took my ('68 i think?) Mauser HSc out for a few laps today. Its a wonderful pistol! Beautiful lines, nice crisp trigger, runs like a top.
Pushes 'em out 50-75fps faster than my p238 does, too.
Recoil is a bit more spirited, and it tosses the brass about 10' further as well, but its a joy to handle.

I do not have nor currently want a .380, but if I ever decided to buy something smaller than my subcompact .40s, the .380 is where I would go. I can't see the point of buying a 9mm for any reason, but in the right gun, the .380 can deliver enough size reduction to make me consider the little cartridge instead of the .40.
