Possibles bag recommendations

Here is a horn/pouch combination I made for my SIL. Horn has the map from Reno to Yerba Buena (olde name for San Francisco) and not seen is the Ponderosa Map. Yerba Buena has Sutro Tower, the Pyramid Building and the SF Bay Bridge on it. She didn't want either stained.

I found a antiquey looking womans purse at a thrift store, made of old fashion leather and dyed pale orange. Has a couple of folds and
leather zipper pocket inside. $5 Been using it now for 15 years and the older and dirtier it gets the better it fits in with my front stuffer.

I just use a 2 qt. canteen cover. Not very authentic, true. I could always use the sporran I made for my Renaissance costume.
I've used a gas mas bag several times at Friendship and at several rendezvous. Very unauthentic but I'm there to chute and have fun.

I use a Polish military courier bag I found on a surplus site for my muzzleloader shotgun. Big enough for a good supply of wads, plastic and cardboard. Plus room for a bird or 2. Don't care so much about being authentic as being able to carry enough stuff to spend a few hours chasing quail.

I am going to have to take the advice of looking for a more haversack style bag, since it's mostly for range use. I will still get a nice possibles bag for hunting when my buddy gets around to taking me along black powder hunting.

This is an old purse I got from my ex. I used it for years when I thought I had to carry everything including the kitchen sink. It used to be white.:D I removed the brass catch and replaced it with a piece of dowel.

Hawg - that's good adaption. Horn button would be nice too. Quill or beadwork would make it rendevous quality.

I've worn a gas mask bag to tote my stuff at Friendship and at various Rendevous so I'm NOT the guy to criticize other people's gears.

Heck, the Chinese in China use any sort of bag and unlike us, they use plastic bottles for shot and powder. They get the shot, powder from the local hardware store. The Chinese government is aware of black powder hunters, but don't consider them a threat and turn a blind eye.

I have two shooting pouches. One is from The Leatherman, and is currently setup as my flintlock bag.

The other is the Longhunter Possible Bag from October Country. I really like this one and prefer it over the other because it's a double-bag design. I used it with my caplock rifle on woods walks and when hunting with that or another caplock rifle. On woods walks, in the front bag I keep a small tin or plastic container with shooting patches, my powder measure, and then dump my round balls in there loose. Tools like a nipple wrench, screwdriver, ramrod tips, and a T-handle for my ramrod are kept in the back pouch. To load I just need to go into the front part. My capper is either on a string around my neck or in a pocket when shooting woods walks but would be in the bag when hunting.

My short starter is kept in a loop on the shoulder strap.

This is the Leatherman bag.

Edit: You can order the bag from OC setup for right or left side carry. I carry mine on the left so the buckle is behind my back when wearing it. The Leatherman bag as shown is setup for right hip carry, hence the placement of the short starter holder. I added one on the other side of the strap since that pic was taken.
