A few weeks ago I got a package of 50 powdercoated bullets from Blarby through the Pay it Forward thread. I loaded them with my nickel cases to make them look cooler and even used some of my precious HS-6.
As requested, here's the range report. Rather than type it all out, I have attached a screenshot of my loading log. I decided to try to work up a load with Longshot and make two loads with HS-6. I usually shot to work up loads at close range. I couldn't really get anything good with the Longshot. Might have been my shooting, or the loads, but it didn't work out. I used 7.6 and 7.9gr of HS-6, but I already knew that 7.9 worked well, so I made more of those. Sure enough, the first group of 5 at 7.9 was four shots touching and a 5th that didn't chamber the first time. I stepped back a few paces for the second group and it wasn't bad either. I'm not the best pistol marksman and both groups were about as good as I usually shoot.
When I was loading, I had a few 180gr cast bullets on the bench, so I loaded them with 7.9gr of HS-6 as well. Interestingly, they had noticeably more noise and recoil than the same charge in the powdercoated bullets.
Thanks Blarby and BDS. If you guys were in business I'd buy more.
