Since I have no reliable place nearby for reloading supplies, I surf the usual reloading etailers. When one of them have some powder of interest in stock, I find myself searching out Powder Valley's prices for a comparison.

That said, Powder Valley is the first site I search for in-stock. But some of their stock goes quickly, even as supplies loosen up.

I'm curious of how many others here may use Powder Valley as a pricing gage in powders and primers?

I look there as well, but if someone else has something I want that pv doesnt...and it's around $15 more (8lb) than pv, I'd buy. I've gotten a good stash of handgun powders now (thanks to the where's the reloading components thread here) so I really don't even look anymore.

I have purchased over 20 lbs. of pistol powder from Powder Valley and a few others in the last 6 months.

PV seems to have remained steady on their pricing since 2012, with only a slight increase.

A couple of the etailers seem, even as supplies increase, to inch up their prices here and there.

I realize, it is still a sellers market. And in no way am I trying to say PV has the only fair price. :)

Just that is seems good to have somewhere to go, whether PV, or another, that you can do a price check.

I buy almost all my powder at PV.. sometimes there is a long wait for it to come in, & usually check their stock every couple of months or so.. too bad they don't have a 'notify me', policy. I have some A#9 & w296 coming, that i have been watching for years!

I use them as the "how much more do I want to pay over PV prices" barometer! But, I have found that MidSouth typically has the same prices on powders I general use/buy...

Just bought a 4lb jug of W296 and 5k of primers. Seems they were cheaper by a few $ on the powder and a good bit cheaper on primers. Their shipping charge is most reasonable of anyone I've bought from. recobs is second on my list.

I have shopped Powder Valley and Recobs several times and their prices are tempting. Lucky for me I have been able to pick up my pistol powder and primers at stores within a couple of hours of my location.

No special trips have been made but when I'm in the area I pick up a pound here and 1000 there.

Stopped using Powder Valley when they could not find me. Yep they told me my address was not a valid address it did not exist according to them & would not ship to the address I gave them. Funny Midway & Grafs have no problem.

Oh well their loss.

Wish I could buy from powder vally and save money. It's recobs for me as I have to pay sales tax cuz I'm in Kansas.

Another thing I like more about PV is that they use UPS now, so I can pick up my shipment at the local distro center which is not far from where I work; FedEx forces me to be home to sign for it...
