Might someone recommend a 9mm load for Alliant Power Pistol with a 125 gr lead round nose please? I bought a pound of based a recommendation however, the manual doesn't list a load for 125 gr LRN.
I have used Power Pistol with 147g plated bullets with good results. No info on Alliant's web site using 125g RNL. http://www.alliantpowder.com Just curious, why are you using 125 Lead for 9mm? I had alot of leading issues. Plated bullets are not that much more and you can push them a little faster without any leading.
I was shooting 6 grns of Power Pistol yesterday and factory ammo. In my guns with 125's, 6 grns of power pistol is distinctly HOTTER then commercial 9mm ammo in 125's.
I made a not in my logs to chrono my 125's with 6.0 grns and to rethink my loads. Maybe 5.8 or even 5.4 as posted above would be a better choice.
I'm looking for a couple hundred rounds to lock in the break point on my Armalite AR 24. I'll load up rounds at 5.2, 5.4, 5.6, and 5.8 grains and report back.
