Is the PPS worth an extra $200 over tge LC9? I don't like external safeties like on the LC9 but I suppose I could leave it off. Thoughts?

I have not looked closely at the Walther, but I do have an LC9, and it is a fine gun. I did have some failure-to-feed problems with the first few rounds, and some light primer strikes. But the problem with feeding was just new-gun stiffness, and disappeared after about 20 rounds.

The light strikes were caused by a faulty primer that had come apart and left a tiny circle of metal coiled inside the firing-pin hole. I only saw it because I went looking for the cause with a powerful light and strong magnification. I lifted it out of there with an X-acto knife point. The gun has had no malfunctions since then. And the gun feels good in my hand.

As to the external safety: I don't bother with it one way or the other. The long, heavy DA pull takes care of that, just as it does on a revolver.

While I personally prefer my S&W Shield, my FIL has a PPS and that is the most accurate little pea shooter I've ever seen for the size. The trigger is about 6 pounds and stacks but it will shoot.
"Is it worth the extra $200.00?" That is your call and depends on your personal pocketbook.

I bought an LC9 around Febuary. Zero fails over 800 rounds before I traded it in. I hated the trigger too much to keep it.

I have some trigger time on the PPS, and I work in gun sales. I handle the PPS daily, and have customers who carry them. It seems unanimous that the PPS is a great shooter. It is a fantastic firearm.

Thanks for the replies. Well, I got a very good deal on a new LC9 so I went that route instead. The trigger is very smooth though it is indeed long. Plan to hit tge range very soon.
