Some time a go I purchased a Aimpoint M4 red dot for my AR that nearly cost as much as I paid for the rifle that it's mounted on. Since then I've been looking for cheap but rugged red dot for my AK but not sure what to look for or even where to start?

Seeing that I'm not trying to make a 100m or longer shots with the rifle but using it for quick target recognition and engagement. I don't see the practicality of paying several hundreds of dollars where a couple might do.

Any suggestion for manufacturer, model and where I should look?

Primary Arms Micro Dot on an Ultimak mount. PA even sells them as a package deal that saves you some money on the cost of the mount. The nice thing about that setup is that the dot has a lower 1/3 co-witness with the iron sights. This means no cheek riser is needed to get cheek weld, and if the dot goes out you can line up your irons right through the tube.

Thanks for the suggestion, did a little research on the Primary and wish that I had ask before I purchased my Aimpoint M4s for my AR. :banghead: Order one and should be here in a couple of days. Thanks!

Anyway now I'm looking for a tactical light (w/strobe) and green laser for my AK any suggestion on this as well?
