I am trying to bring back to life my grandfathers Winchester 1894 in 32WS.
From the SN it was built in 1910 and according to the paperwork, bought in 1911. I have disassembled the gun and cleaned all parts in my ultrasound cleaner. However, I would like to remove the RL cartridge guides//screws and carrier spring/screw so I can finish preping/cleaning the action. Problem is acces to the screws. :cuss: Does anybody know of a special tool or screw driver made to access these screws? All the right angle screwdrivers I have seen are to long to fit. Please help!

I can't help you with your problem, but I can say that you are a better man than I for tearing down your 94 to that level. I was under the impression that you don't want to remove the guides because they are difficult to get properly aligned again.

Do they really need to come out to clean it?

There is no need to take the cartridge guide (or guides) out to remove the carrier.

Get yourself a dental pick & Q-Tips & solvent to reach in and clean around the cartridge guides.

They are otherwise best left unmolested.
