Pre 64 Winchester or Marlin in 45-70

Whats the going rate of a pre 64 Winchester ? Does anyone know what year the serial 18331xx puts it ? I have a 336 marlin in 30 x 30 wich I really like. I want to add to the lever collection and I am debating between a marlin 45-70 and this pre 64 Win....

18331xx is 1952.

I'd get that one.

Unlike Marlin 1895's, they don't make pre-64 94's anymore!!

If you're going to fork up the $$$ for a 'Pre 64' model in any kind of good shape, why not just get one of the new 'Extra Light' models made by FN? The quality is there, and it would be a new gun - not to mention one of the most sought-after 45-70s around.
