If I want to shoot my cz 75 in IDPA, do I run it cocked & locked?
I I have to start in DA mode, I would have to drop the hammer on
chambered round(no de-cocker on this model). This poses a safety issue.

No, you can start in single action in ESP Division, provided the rest of the gun fits those criterion.

As stated, you can start with it cocked and locked, but you are in ESP. If you want to shoot in SSP you must manually drop the hammer so that the first shot will be double action. It's legal and lots of shooters do it. The gun was designed to be operated both ways. Depending on the club, you may run into people who haven't seen guns like the CZ75 without decockers used and they may have a problem with it. This is what initially happend to me and I explained to them and they did some more checking and realized it is legal in IDPA or USPSA. Mark

I have shot my CZ75 "pre-B" in SSP by manually lowering the hammer for a DA start. Production, too, a little bit.
There were a very few SOs who got nervous about it, but they got over it when I demonstrated that I could get the hammer down without an AD or even a close call.
