I just had a conversation with my sister, whom I dearly love. Her daughter is in another country at school and has, of course, seen the news and told her mom that they are all "real disappointed in the US and it's lack of gun control." I immediately told her, "She certainly don't wanna hear from me, then." She said that no, I was probably the last person she should tell that to. I then went on to give her my views on guns and the last few days and I must have done a pretty good job, because my sister is kicking around the idea of a CPL. I doubt that she will get one because of other reasons that I won't post here, but I firmly believe that her eyes were opened. She was never really anti-gun, but merely a fence-sitter for the last 20 or so years. I'll keep at it when we talk, in baby steps, but she's very intelligent and I'm convinced, even if she never owns a gun of her own, she'll be one of us in spirit.

Enlightenment

Sometimes the eyes open gradually.

Sometimes it's catastrophic enlightenment.

It's always good when the enlightenment arrives before the catastrophe.
