In terms of categorization of weapons/firearms what is the full list of all categories? I.e.; small arms, artillery, etc.
And what is the order in which they progress?
(Does this question make sense?)

One other question. Anything .50 BMG and under falls within the small arms category correct?

Thanks from the uber-noob.

You have small arms and crew served. Crew served requires a 'crew' to lug the weapon, tripod, base plate, and ammo. or to operate it. Mortars, artillery, and machine guns are 'crew served.' A 50 Barrette sniper rifle is 'small arms.' A 50 MG is 'crew served' A M14 firing a .308 is 'small arms.' The same round through a M60 is 'crew served.'

Anything under 20mm is generally considered to be "small arms" by the military. There is a difference between "individual weapon" and "crew served weapon", but they are both considered to be "small arms."
