I have used Missouri and Berrys bullets, which I have had good luck with, but never Precision Delta. A friend who has used some has recommended that I try them.

Anyone here use ir have used the PD bullets? What was your thoughts or opinions of the PD bullets?

The only pistol calibers I reload is 9, 45 and 44.

I use PD FMJ bullets all the time. They are less expensive than any plated bullets, so I prefer them. I have read that they aren't as good as some of the name brand ones, but for my target shooting I like them just fine. I use their 230gr FMJ 45's, all the weights for 9mm and 40 cal. Never had a problem. They mic the correct dimensions and weigh the correct weights.

Sometimes they have a lead time when ordering, so take that into account. Otherwise...good to go!

I have burned through at least 20K of their 9mm 115gr FMJ bullets and 10K of their 230gr 45 cal bullets in the last decade or so. I am a huge fan of their products - they are a superb choice for jacketed bullets, at prices similar to or below that of most plated offerings.

ETA - was searching for a different topic and came across this PD thread that may be of use:

For plinking they are great, but I would leave it there. I have used 9mm and 40 from them and the 9mm were inconsistent in size. OAL of a loaded round would vary +/- .010" and this was using 2 different seating dies, which for me is too much. Berrys is my go to in almost every caliber.

I had very consistent results with my 124gr 9mm RN from PD. The problem for me is that 1) they have a 2000 bullet minimum, 2) they always seem to be out of the bullets I want. Their web page will allow you to place an order, but don't make the mistake of assuming your bullets will show up anytime soon.

If you want to order from PD, then take the time to call them on the phone and check stock first. Never place a web site order.

I now mostly use Montana Gold and Berry Mfg.

Just my 2 cents.

There are, in my opinion, only two choices in bullets at this time:
1) cast lead
and
2) jacketed.
Companies are pricing their swaged lead bullets and their Cu-plated bullet comparable to Precision Delta, Zero Bullet, and Montana Gold jacketed bullets. In fact, in 9mm, I can make a point that Montana Gold, Zero, and PD are the ONLY choice. I will always be willing to spend a couple of extra dollars for precision jacketed bullets.
In .40 and .45, cast bullets are still the way to go, but only if you price them around. Penn Bullets are about as expensive as I will pay and I find MasterCast Bullets of Carbondale,Il, and Missouri Bullets to be the best at a reasonable price.
Let's look at a few 9mm bullets, since I have been looking to buy some:
Penn 115gn cast L-SWC--$70/1000
Precision 125gn swaged and moly-koted L-FP--$70/1000
MasterCast Bullets 125gn cast L-TCN--$48.21/1000
Dardas Bullets 122gn cast L-CFPBB--$52.75/1000
Berry's 124gn Cu-plated FP--$86.45/1000
Montana Gold 124gn JHP--$303/3750 (equivalent to $80.80/1000)
Zero (if you can find them) 125gn FMJ-FP--$80.48/1000
Zero 121gn JHP (available from Roze: 3 boxes yesterday, and PowderValley)--$83.92/1000, $86/1000

From this, I would either go to MasterCast or Dardus or simply buy excellent JHPs from MG or Zero. Plated have no attraction for me at these prices.
As is, my son bought from MG and I have ordered from PowderValley (didn't see the availability at Roze until I had already placed my order.

I buy the PD 9mm 115 fmj's all the time. I like them. They do have a wait some times, but its never taken a real long time for me to get them. I usually order them when I get down to 1k left to load. That way I dont really notice. I've made the comparison between them and Montana Gold and I think they're cheaper by a few dollars. I also believe you have to order 4k at a time from Mon Gold for the big discount that is still a dollar or so more than Im paying for the PD bullets. Good bullets you'll be happy with em. On the 45 stuff though I just use the 230grain softballs from Missouri bullets.

I had the same problem with 9mm. I measured a large number of them and contacted PD with the results. PD said they must have mistakenly come from the 'culled' location and sent me 500 124FMJs. I checked them and they had exactly the same large variations. These bullets' "nose-shape variations" could be seen from several feet away.

For a penny or two more, much better bullets are available.
