I am currently searching for a new 9mm bullet to load. The new bullet will be fired out of my 9mm Glocks (26, 19, 17, & 34) with factory barrels. Out of the search, Precision Delta bullets popped up. What I liked about PD is their prices for FMJ bullets. I have also heard that if I order from PD that I will have to wait to get the my order due to backlogs. I have sent them and email inquiring about the backlog, still waiting for a response. Anyone have any experience with Precision Delta bullets and or wait time?

The other bullet that caught my attention was Black Bullet International 130gr TC. I have used BBIs 115gr and 230gr bullets in the past with good results. The only issue that I see at this time is lack of load data. Not a big deal though. Does anyone have any experience with these BBI bullets?

The new bullet will be used for practice, plinking, and IDPA. I am currently using Montana Gold 115gr FMJ. They work well, but I am paying nearly $100 per K, which I feel is a little much compared to the other options out there. I normally use Unique powder, but I do have power pistol, HP-38 , red dot, and bullseye.

Thanks in advanced,
Sapper

I use pd 124 gr jph they are usually on my door step within a day or so they great consistency and well made

good soft loads try tite group

For lower priced Montana Gold bullets, order by the case. They offer free shipping so following is their final price which may be less than PD bullets (because you need to add shipping cost):

Montana Gold
9mm 115 gr FMJ - $290/4000 = $72.50/1000 + Free shipping
9mm 124 gr FMJ - $292/3750 = $77.00/1000 + Free shipping

Precision Delta
9mm 115 gr FMJ - $70/1000 + Shipping (If shipping is $12 and ordering 4000, then $73/1000)
9mm 124 gr FMJ - $74/1000 + Shipping (If shipping is $12 and ordering 4000, then $77/1000)

I've recently ordered twice from Precision Delta. Shipping is free with a minumum order of 2,000 bullets. They shoot well for me.

Dealing with PD requires a phone

Mr Sap -
You want to pick up the PHONE and CALL those people. Right now they are scrambling to make bullets as fast as possible. They make a great bullet, but the whole world knows it. So some calibers/weights can be out of stock for months on end. The only way to know with PD is to get them on the phone, check their stock, and place the order right then.

They could be completely out of 124gr HP but have 10 million 124gr RN in stock. You just never know. But one thing for sure, PD's web site and email response time are fairly lacking.

If you want real-time on the web info, then may I suggest you order Zero bullets from Magnus. They sell in quantities as low as 250.

;)

Wobbly,

Thank you for the heads up on PD. I don't mind waiting a week for bullets, but anything longer sways me toward other places that can have them on my door step in 3 days.

Wrench,
I found that discussion when I was looking up load data for the 130gr BBIs. Like stated above, I had good experience with the BBI 115gr bullets, better than with the Precision Bullets ( not PD).

I am trying to talk a friend into going in on a bulk bullet order with me, but he is in the same boat as me with a limited budget.

Thanks again to all who replied. I appreciate the info.

PD can bite

Wobbly,
Thank you for the heads up on PD. I don't mind waiting a week for bullets, but anything longer sways me toward other places that can have them on my door step in 3 days.

Mr Sap -
I say that because last year this time they wanted me to wait 8 months for 124gr RN, while they had several other types of 9mm in stock. Of course I didn't find this out until after waiting patiently for 3 months and then calling them. They were quite free with the information on the phone, but never an email to hint at the long wait.

Like I said, they are genuinely nice people with a great product, but their lack of communication skills can leave you busted flat. Heck, they didn't have product photos on their web site until last year! One day their customer base will drag them kicking and screaming into the 1990's.

:D

I've had EXACTLY the same experience as rfwobbly. Ordered 124g RN on line and ended up waiting months. When I finally called they said they'd been out for months and it would be months before they'd have stock to ship. I switched to Montana Gold for that order.

But PD is cheaper (for 2K, which is what I usually buy.) Last few times I've called, talked to the nicest order takers in the South, and had goods shipped within a day or two. I placed an order 2 days ago - by phone - was told they had 124g RN on hand, and would ship that day or tomorrow (Monday.)

BTW, PD ships Priority Mail (I think MG does too, IIRC). The mailman will deliver 2K to my door, but last time I ordered 4K I had to go to the post office to pick it up. They did help me load the box in my van, but I had to cut the box open and take it inside in stages when I got home.
