I jumped on this today, putting together a 223 bolt gun and figured I’d share the wealth

https://www.americanrifle.com/
nucleus for $750, archimedes doe $825, mausingfield for &1200

xylo chassis for $825

https://patriotvalleyarms.com/224-centerfire-black-friday-rock-creek-prefits/

Prefit barrels for American rifle company, Curtis, bighorn, defiance (shouldered) and a myriad of barrel nut installs chambered for $479

i got one chambered and threaded for less than $550.
Now the waiting game begins. Once everything is here I’ll screw it together and have a local smith check headspace and I’ll be in business

You can rent the go/no-go gauges yourself pretty inexpensively from C4HD

FYI

appreciate that. It’s almost a guaranteed to headspace properly, but my kids are gonna shoot it so I’ll pay someone a few dollars to torque it down and check headspace

Nice.

I passed the link on, and my buddy Jeff was sorely tempted, but we have both spent our share and more on guns this last six months, so we are being good right now.
It's only money that you can't take with you. ;)

I am glad right now I am focused on "Accurizing 22LR on the CHEAP" thread ... And already have my 18" .223 Wylde AR I am happy with with another 18" kit with match barrel. :D

I knew I shouldn’t have click on this thread…..

I love ARC's actions. I've got a Gen 1 Nucleus that I built in 22 Creedmoor a couple years ago, and a Gen 2 Nucleus in 223 that I just finished a few weeks ago. I'm really tempted to buy another one at these prices!

What’s the speqs on the 223? How does it shoot?

the PVA barrel I ordered is chambered for long loaded 75-85 grain bullets and I’m looking forward to playing with longloaded heavy 223 bullets in a 26” suppresses rifle, should be a whole lot of fun

ARC Nucleus Gen 2 action with 16# firing pin spring installed
PVA / Rock Creek cut rifled -1-7 twist with +.100" freebore - M24 contour - 20" long - threaded 5/8 x 24
Trigger Tech Special trigger - Pull set at 1.5#
KRG Bravo chassis
MTD polymer magazine's because they allow a 2.550" OAL
ARC M10 rings
S&B PMII 5-25x56 scope

I've only been able to shoot it twice so far, and I'm trying some non - traditional 223 powder's to see what I can make work with the short barrel. I've been disappointed so far with the 75gr ELD-M loads with the best shooting in the .670" range.
Shooting the 80gr ELD-M bullet's, I've had better results with groups in the .3" - .5" range, but they should be able to improve a lot with some tweaking.

Very similar to what I’ll have, I’ll be happy with some .3’s and .5’s for sure
