Precision Shooting

Two guns and barrels in play. 10” last model before G2, and a 21” carbine.
Oooo! 21” .30-30! 🤤
I’ve just got this old G1 and a few barrels. Nothing exciting.

Not shown are the 10” scoped .22RemJet, TCA Super 14 .35Rem, TCA Super 16 .223Rem, and the shoulder stocks, bipods etc that are tucked away. I only have the one frame left. Which is fine since I can only shoot one at a time. 😁

Nothing wrong with playing. Just have fun and do your best. The goal is to get the best groups out of the platform you can, right?

Don’t worry about the $10K crowd. Shoot what you got and see how it goes.

I highly recommend the T/C specific loads book.
I have Vol 2. Lost or gave away Vol 1.
Mistake to loan books. I have and the person moved away. Was just trying to make a loading friend. So is that book you mentioned better than what's in my Lyman TC sections?

Hmmm. I don’t know if I can say “better,” just “different.” Load Books compiled data and articles from various sources and put them together in one binder. The plus side is there’s a variety of sourced data from top-shelf names. The downside is some of the data is stale and it spans a lot of years and testing methods.

I like it and don’t mind recommending it.

So does one “make” it shoot, or select a better bullet or barrel….?

Not sure which advice to heed to here…
I suggest taking my advice, first 😎

When a cool project comes up I spend my time and money going with the flow, seeing where the barrel wants to send things and how the action responds to each load. Observing is the journey; getting there spoils the fun. It’s like riding a motorcycle.
😁

So…………
You go accordingly to what YOU think is cool and fun to pursue…….!?!?!?

That’s WAYYYY to novel for some to understand….

Once again, I like the way you think young man… :D

Out of the ordinary projects are sometimes the MOST fun…!!

I’m just itching (😉) to ask @PapaG for pictures of his carbine. But I take lousy pictures and typically refuse when someone asks so I won’t.

But if he decides to post some…

I getchya tho. Some folks get axlewrapped when they feel like their buzzwords are being taken in vain. I’m guilty of it too and get smacked around by the same people who think my buzzwords are stupid but their buzzwords are gospel. It’s just how things are 😇

Very good. Now , I haven't heard the word axlewrapped since my youth.

According to my wife, I’m still living out my youth. 🤣
According to my cardiologist, I’m living on borrowed time - at high interest rates.
That’s why I just stopped caring about what people think and learned to love the bomb. 😎

My 1:12 Handi and my 1:10 300BLK both seem to prefer 110-125 grain pointy bullets and H4198 works very well in both.

Looks pretty exciting to me.
My old shooting buddy had a 10” 30-30 Contender, great gun, recoil was very tolerable. I really enjoyed shooting that pistol. His 221 Fireball was even sweeter.

Just butting in . My pro hunter rifle frame came with muzzle load barrel. I have purchased a .308 and a 6mmARC barrel. Not precision at all but I haven't got back to those yet. Have no idea what to expect. Good reading !!!

I just want someone to mass produce frames again. Is that too much to ask? I mean, if Ruger can make a SRH in 22 Hornet ……
Well, not to go off topic but…

Yes, I agree. I thought of the T/C as a strange, quirky thing only oddballs would want - until I shot one. Then I had to have one.
