preparing for this hunting season

im trying to prepare to hunt this year.. need a new rifle, im actually looking into buying an M1 garand parts kit and receiver.... a rifle great for hunting and just so cool when not hunting... getting an M-65 jacket... does anyone know where i can get the good kind of plastic military 1 qt canteen with the free turning lid (not attached to the strap)... and doesnt leave a nasty aftertaste?, looking to get that with the cup and a nylon case... and well, since where ill be hunting is mostly swamp, i think ill get the thigh high boots

For canteens and other military items, check out any of the army surplus sites (there are many fine ones throughout the country). The item should say " military issue", or "original military equip", or some such term. If it doesn't say that it probably isn't ( "military spec" isn't ). Good Luck

check out THESPORTSMANS GUIDE I bought a GI 2 Quart Bladder type canteen with the shoulder carring strap & pouch for about 2 ea. for the price of $19.97 catalog # JXM-167394 these are brand new & not used, check it out on their site the cap is attached by a plastic strap & there is no plastic taste in these canteens I have been using one of these for the last 20 yrs for everything from woodchuck hunting in the hot weather to Deer in the winter, These are the ones that our military are being issued & they are worth the price, good checking it out?.
