Although I have the light setup from Inline Fabrication and like it has anyone used the one from KMS Squared UFO lighting system that was shown on Ultimate reloader? It looks like a pretty nice setup.

I have several of them, they are quite impressive.

I have lots of light in my reloading room, but now all of my other presses look dark.

What machine are you looking to get it for?

I don know if I will get one for the LNL I have as the Inline one is ok but that KMS one looks like it has much more light. If I do get another press be it an LNL or Dillon I will most certainty get the KMS one.

Thanks for this thread.

I've been putting up with a little magnet based flex light. It's always in the way, and moves. I try to have it shine in the case to show the powder level at the seating station. Drives me nuts!

After looking at both the Inline and KMS,I just ordered the KMS for my Dillon.:) I personally feel it has much more illumination between the two.

I originally bought an Ammo-plant and got it running perfectly. I tried to help others that couldn't get their's running so I offered paperweight price for them and they sold them. So now I have one for small rifle, one for large rifle, one for small pistol, and one for large pistol. I have also bought and sold 19 others.

I can only answer for how they (magnetic-base sewing machine LED light) work on my LCT (Great!) ... sounds like on the Dillon, not so much. :)

I don't have one like yours. It looks like it might have been a better choice. Maybe at the time I should have researched more. Regardless, I think in getting something made to fit specific presses, I'll be a happier reloader.:)

I ended up rigging my own from LED strips I bought from superbrightleds.com. I have found that many of the prefab options out there tend to shine right in your face. I have also just used one of those cheap ikea lamps with the bendable necks and shined the light right down through the center holes on my toolheads.

Depends on how you install them.
I showed a friend my UFO light, he bought one and installed it on the back of the press facing forward, ya it will shine in your face if you do that.

That being said if you are just running a straight strip buying a roll of sticky back leds is way cheaper especially if you have a bunch of 12v power supplies laying around and you can solder. They make pwm dimmers for LEDs too so you can adjust brightness I bought mine for under 3$ from some Chinese site.

Most LED strips will start to fail in a few months of continuous running at full brightness. if you use a pwm dimmer and run about 80% brightness they don't burn out.
The UFO light says don't leave turned on in instructions.

These are KMS UFO lights.

The instructions say “Best Practice: To ensure a long service life, turn lights off when not in use.” Not that big of a deal, I do the same thing with all my lights, TV’s, other electronics, cars, tractors, just about everything I can think of.

I just use the Hornady LNL light strip. Cost 13 bucks and works fine for me. I just used some plastic zip ties to mount it instead of the adhesive backing. Very easy and simple

Yep. That’s what I use on my LCT. I stuck the light strip on the upright closest to me (backside) and it shines toward the case on the ram shell holder. Works great.

Yea you don't want it shinning in your face like you see some of them have it.

I rigged up my own, but don't have any recent pics posted up. This shows the metal mirrors. I have another LED setup for pistol cases.
Nice thing about a narrow focus LED is you can point a lot of light right into the case.

Some folks who use high volumes of several different calibers will leave each of their complex-to-setup-just-right progressive presses configured for one caliber (and sometimes for only one specific, proven, load) ... ergo, benches lined with multiple progressive presses. :)

Some people do the same thing with Lee Turret presses. They have multiple turrets set up with dies and powder measures to load different calibers or loads. Takes about a minute or two to change out and do a test run to be sure your load hasn't changed. Other brands of turret presses you could do the same thing but the turrets are more expensive and\or more time consuming. And others will have a mix of both dedicated presses and turrets. It is a matter of what works best for your situation and budget.

Well, of course. :) I think that ALL users of the LCT (and like turret presses) do that to some degree (I have a multiples so configured) as it is one of the primary reasons to own such a turret press. I know of no one who buys & sets up multiple LCTs, though, although there are probably a few such folks ... most just buy the additional $10 turrets.
