"Allow 6-8 weeks for delivery". :D

How times have changed.

Narf, welcome to THR! You have a bit of history there. Cool!

Charles Huntington, who was better known as "Buzz" by everyone who knew him, was son of RCBS founder Fred Huntington. After Fred sold the company Buzz remained for a while until, with brother Fred Jr. ran Huntington Die Specialties. He passed away about four years ago. Like his dad, Buzz was well liked and respected throughout the industry.

Not from RCBS it hasn't. Only difference is the medium of the letter. If your uncle had bought used kit, he'd have gotten the same letter with the parts too.
Took about a month when I sent 'em a letter long ago asking where I could get a decapping pin. They sent me a package of 5 pins and a list of retailers.

Based on my recent experiences with RCBS, their high level of customer service hasn't changed a bit.

RCBS ranks among the best as far as customer service. Before they made (or at least before I ever heard of) bushing resizing dies, I was trying to improve bullet runout. I had a worn out RCBS full length die that had loaded thousands of rounds so I called RCBS. Explained to the tech that the die owed me nothing, it was simply worn out, and could they ream the neck area of the die so that I could resize my match brass without using the expander plug.

He assured me they could if I sent them three fired cases and the die, which I did. I did not inquire as to cost and assumed they would contact me when job completed w/billing information. A couple of weeks later, I received the die and an invoice marked "no charge".

Can't beat service like that!
Needless to say all my die boxes are green.

Lots of good CS out there, but Dillon and RCBS are at the top of the list IMO.

Regards,
hps

I haven't had the pleasure with RCBS, but I was amazed to find Lee takes customer support pretty seriously as well. I chose the Lee Classic Turret because as a beginner I liked the simplicity of the turret style press as opposed to a progressive, the Lee dies are quite nice, caliber changes are a snap, it will do small rifle well enough and it's cheap. I didn't figure you'd get much that didn't come in the box.

My box didn't have the advertised spare plastic bushing that the index rod drives against, so I figured I better get some before the one in the press bowed to the failure-prone nature of the design. Lee sees it as a consumable, so I guess it is a matter of perspective. I went to their webstore and put 4 bushings, an index rod and clamp and a primer feeder trough, mounting arm and washer in the cart fully expecting to pay the indicated prices. The actual prices were 0.00 for everything, marked 'service part' on each line. I did not have to provide proof of purchase for the press; I don't think I even had to pay shipping.

The one thing everyone agrees on regarding Lee products is that they're cheap; I was amazed this level of support automated and available 24/7/365 to all who care to take advantage. I've since bought a sweet RCBS collet bullet puller and primer tray, plus a Chargemaster 2000 scale that's just OK. It's great to hear they stand behind their products should I decide the constant drifting of the Chargemaster is cause for action.
