Oh Hi Oh
I can find prices for S&W 625, .45 ACP revolvers with every barell length except the one I'm pricing, which is a 3" barell. Supposedly there are few around. Is $700 a good price?

$$$???

Thanks

Really, it's a fairly criminal price, but it may be all you can get; there aren't a lot of 3 inchers around, and you aren't the only one who wants one.

You could always wait for a steal on a 5" and send it to SDM fabrication to have it cut down and equipped with their superb fiber optic sight for 200 bucks.

I have one and paid more than $700 for it. It was made for Lew Horton along with two other 3" N frames. One of the others was a 629 with an unfluted cylinder. Production was very limited.

The price seems high to me too, since I paid $425 for mine NIB but that was years ago.
But like Christopher said, if you really want one bad you may have to pay that.

A friend of mine who owned a police supply store had a detective ask him to order one for him.
The supplier wouldn't accept the order unless he ordered at least two of them for some reason.
So the second gun sat in his display case, quite awhile actually, until I finally decided that I wanted it.:)

All of the 3" N-Frames sell at premium prices. I paid $425 for a used 625 three years ago so $700 for a NIB is a bit high but not extrodinary. Check the classifieds over at the S&W Forum. They do show up every once and awhile, but they do have a tendancy to be sold pretty fast. I finally was able to pick up a 3" 657 (no Lew Horton) w/o having to take out a 2nd morgatge :D from a posting over there.
