Saw a beautiful 91/30 today at the gun show. It was a 1932 Tula with a Hex receiver and the blu'ing was in great shape, the wood had a few dings that looked to have been arsenal repaired but nothing major and the bore was absolutely pristine. What would something like that be worth? I have an M44 and I know what those are going for but all the 91/30's I've seen have either had counter bored barrels, had very dark bores, or both.

Regards,
Dave

Sounds a lot like mine, I paid $120 for mine from J&G but it was also an ex-sniper so that added to the price a little.

Pawn shop here has them for $79.99 out the door, R Guns is the importer, and apparently they don't sort out ex-snipers because there's at least 3 over there in the mix for the same price. Most are in VG condition, some post-war, both Tula and Izhevsk arsenals.

Pre-war Hex are good ones to get, they have definitely a lot more finish and refinement than their war time cohorts.

As far as value, if you have a C&R license, you can get them from AIM, Sarco, J&G or the likes for usually 69.99-79.99 but that is sight unseen.

You are looking at one with a known finish, and known bore condition, which is worth paying a little more in my book. For one at a gunshow/shop I would expect it to be around $100, with a top I would pay being $120 though.

Mine's a 1927 Tula that apparently is an ex-Dragoon...

Very nice rifle, $100 even at my dealer. Beautiful wood and metal.

J&G has them for dirt cheap and Aim is only slightly more. I got a M44 for dirt cheap. My 91/30 was about 100 for a Tula hex wiht a laminated stock, but I think that's becomming more and more rare. Anyways good luck

I did alright then!! (It followed me home. :) $120 ) I'll try to get pictures up later. Around here they seem to be asking $150-$190 for a really nice one . .the $120 one's can have nice wood, nice metal or a nice bore, but never all three and usually not even 2 of the three. (for 91/30's, 44's are common in great shape)

Thanks guys!

Have a good one,
Dave
