In good shape? Hunted to extinction, much like its stainless twin the 3" Model 65.

Are we talking about the one in the picture, or is that just illustrative?

A 3" Model 13 Round Butt, the FBI model, in NRA very good to excellent condition, with the original box numbered to the gun, paperwork and tools, is a collector's and a shooter's piece and will fetch a premium. Starts at perhaps $650 and just goes up from there.

Unfired, new-in-the-box? Wow. Collector only and probably starts at $800, though if you told me you saw one sell for $1000 I wouldn' be surprised -- these were the last FBI-issued revolvers before the world went semiauto, and have the added mystique of that legacy; also, they're just great fighting guns.

Shooter grade, NRA good to very good? Anywhere from $400 to $550, all depending on the specific piece, location, seller and buyer.

And there's always the guy who walked into a pawnshop in the middle of nowhere and found a mint one for a song to throw off the averages (I am still waiting to be that guy).

Tell us more about the one in question...

The last (and only, this decade) 3" 13 RB that I saw at LGS was priced $659, and gone went I went back in after payday, FWIW.

Hapworth, it is the gun in the picture. Box, papers, receipt, cleaning tools all original to the gun. It has been shot but very little. The cleaning tools are still unused in the plastic wrapper. The gun is in excellent condition. I added the T-grip shortly after buying mostly for looks but boy did it make it more controllable with magnum loads. It is a safe queen as I have other more mundane choices for carrying.

Thanks all for your comments, history and price estimates. It is very much appreciated.

I paid $500 for one about a year ago that was in that kind of condition - practically unfired, and no magnums. But it had no box or accessories. :( I've shot it quite a bit, mostly .38, and 2 boxes of magnums.

Love it. I think I'm gonna get a Model 10 or Model 64 in similar configuration to bear most of the wear and shooting, but this one is for hiking and hunting backup. And I could see me keeping it in preference to everything else if I had to reduce down to one good gun for carry due to finances or whatever.
