This is a pre ban weapon with all the goodies. A buddy of mine is selling it and I was wondering what price they fetch.

I think he is asking 1000.00.

Well, depends exactly what all the goodies are.
do you have your late model fixed stock 8 round capacity one, or one with the 9 round extension, or you have your folding stock 9 round capacity one, and is the mag extension metal or plastic? and does the folding stock have the hook too? Is the folding stock one that locks into the rear sight and doesnt make it as easy to deploy as later ones do which hinge on a button on the rear pistol grip.
Does it come with the original sling? That's important, how about the Spas12 tool? That's desireable, although not terribly useful for other than punching out the pins on the trigger group.
Now what about the trigger system? an upgraded safety or the bad recalled said to be dangerous lever type one. Not that I would concern myself with it, as the spas 12 has 2 safeties, and you may as well just use the quick release safety and ignore the other one.
There are also barrel differences, some have the front sight mounted back further.
How about Chokes? It have any of those? Spas 12 chokes are exceedingly difficult to find. Especially a complete Diverter Choke (2 pieces) and then you have the Scope Mount. Also a highly desireable goodie. I have a few scope mounts incase my friend screws up our project, which is to reverse engineer the scope mount, so Spas 12 owners can equip their guns accordingly should they wish.
Instruction book? It's a complicated gun to just pick up and use, although if you read a lot about it, you'll get to know it real easy.
You also have a plastic mag tube block, that is useful should you wish to hunt and need a mag that wont take more than a certain number of shells.
Then you want to see the condition of the gun. Has it lost the mushroom button on the left side? Those come unscrewed and can fall off.
Also, you have the recoil buffer which is susceptible to breakage after a lot of use (I broke mine 2 years ago, and that was after 10 years of very heavy useage) very difficult to find replacement buffers now, although I suspect I could have fixed mine.

Prices?
$1000 seems excessive unless it comes with everything i've mentioned. You can often find used fixed stock 8 round ones with no accessories for $700. You find a mag extension tube to hold that one more round, you can see the metal ones go for upwards of $200 on auction now and then, pretty rare to find them actually.
Be aware that many will also not fire in semi auto mode because some dummy has gone and lost the o-ring and never bothered to try to see if a remington auto's o ring will make it work. Exactly the same size, and it does.
Used Folders 9 round in good condition should run you anywhere from $875- on up depending on the condition and if it has the upgraded safety. Keep in mind the folder is extremely painful to shoot with the folding stock extended and your face firmly planted on the steel stock.
I think that about covers it.

Here is a picture of my two, in ideal configurations. You see a Full Choke on the fixed stock one and scope mount. The sling is on neither, as i think it gets in the way with the hook it clips into right infront of your eye.
