I ran across a NIB RDA-36 Security Six, 6" bbl, SN# 152-730xx for $375.
What about this price ?

Where? That's a high price from most of the ones I've seen, but then again prices have been going up on these. You're probably paying $75 for the box.

A year or two ago you could get one for $200 to $250.
The last few months for some reason i have seen these jump way up in price.

My brain says "$50.00" to high. My gut would force me to buy it if there's no negotian. You will not regret it.

They're great, but I'd hold out for a stainless. Still, a 6-inch in like new condition would certainly be tempting. It is a bit high, though.

That's gotta be pretty close to the low-ball price on a new GP100.

On the high side........not totally out of line, however......offer him $340-$350.
I just paid $320 for a 95% 2.75" stainless Security Six, no box or docs.. It was marked $350 and I offer $320....but then the stupid tax....so it still ended up costing nearly $350 out the door. That's on the high side ....but that's yesterday's news...now I have what I have wanted for quite some time ! The short barrel Ruger Six series are sweet.

IMO the price is towards the top end but still in the park. At the last show there was no security sixes for under 300. I had one out with 325 on the tag and had several people interested. No box though. Prices do vary depending where you are. And yes it seems the box does add 30 to 50 to the price. Great guns. I would offer 350 and see if that gets it. If not I have a SS security six 2 3/4" you can have for 325 tax included.

Well there are alot of "Brand" biased people out there, who would pay much more than $375, for their favorite brand of revolver-and still wouldn't get a gun that was superior to these Six-Series Ruger revolvers! They are great guns(And tough as nails!)and to my eyes, are beautiful guns also! Here are my two Speed-Sixes, followed by my Police Service-Six(All are the 2-3/4" barrel length)!:

I recently picked up one used Stainless without the box...

for $2.50. I would think NIB is worth $375.

For NIB $375 is about right!

Jim, where did you get that used SS Security Six for $2.50?
I'll take a dozen, maybe more at that price! :neener:

That's gotta be pretty close to the low-ball price on a new GP100.
If it's brand spanking new I'd have to reconsider on the price. Never cared much if the box came with it or not. If you gave me a straight choice between a new stainless Security-Six and a new stainless GP-100, I'd take the Security-Six like a gator. I like the GP-100 fine, but would like to see Ruger do what Dan Wesson did, and that's to let users swap barrels.

Why confine shooters only to range guns? What about hikers and campers? Jim Z, if I could get one of those skinny barrels now I'd love one. I was over at my parents' the other day and inspected my mother's skinny barrel snub SS. I had my own HB SS there and handling the two I distinctly liked the skinny barrel more than the heavy barrel.

Another thing I like about the SS is that you can get the action so smooth it rivals the best Smith & Wesson magnums.

JimZ: Do you have the smooth trigger or the grooved? If it's the grooved, are you going to replace it with a smooth?

Slick6: Wow. Nice guns. What's your favorite barrel length? :D

Confederate:

My favorite barrel length is four inches or less! In saying that, although it has taken me awhile to get used to the six-inch barrel length, I'm just starting to appreciate these more. This is especially true, as it pertains to the Six-Series revolvers-because I wouldn't care for the six-inch length on an GP-100(Too heavy and bulky-despite being more comfotable to shoot!)! The Six-Series revolvers are my favorite by any measure!:what: :D :D
