I was at a gun show a few months ago. I got a Polytech AK "SP" rifle for just under 400.00. I researched Yugo AKs and Romanian Aks, I figured that is what I would see. I didnt know the name "Polytech" when I bought the rifle. The action seemed smooth and the barrel was clean and everything was finished nice. So I bought it.
Online, there is very little information on the "SP". What does come up is from years ago. It seems they sold for 350.00 in 1990's. In 2005 one was listed here for 500.00. YES mine has the ground bayonet lug. I want to replace the stock and do the 922r parts.... I am not selling this, I just dont like knowing if I got a good deal. I am happy with it, but usually I can find out more and what they are worth.... In 2008 dollars, what is it worth?
OR with the newer imports available would i be better off to leave the Polytech alone and get a new AK from the gun store? (Romanian or Yugo)
If I replace the stock (And corresponding parts as required), would it be more valuable with a wood stock (Ironwood) or a Tapco stock (6/Adjustable)?
