I feel like everywhere I turn I'm hearing so many say not to buy firearms from dealers. Doing so provides the government with an easy record to trace when the UN guys in blue helmets are called in to confiscate firearms.
But buying through private sales doesn't guarantee quality of what's bought/sold. And besides just how realistic, or perhaps better said, how likely is it that our firearms will ever be confiscated?

Well, my thought is if there really is some UN/New World Order conspiracy keeping tabs on everyone with hope of one day taking away their guns and sending everyone off to death camps, then they probably already assume you're a gun owner by virtue of the fact that you post on a firearms related forum. Such a totalitarian force would not require any further proof than that. So, you may as well buy from wherever you can legally do so, and still get the best deal.

My mom who (trying to decide how to word this,) takes Glenn Beck a little TOO seriously, just became aware of The Man tracking her all over the place. She wants to get rid of her cell phone, and when she recently decided to get a carry permit, she was worried about being 'tracked'.

I asked her; "What is more likely, that the government will track you to do something bad to you with your cell phone, or that you will have car trouble and need to call for help someday? What is more likely, that the government will put you on a list of bad people from your gun purchase, or that you will be in a situation where you were glad you had a gun?"

There's no convincing her, but she still has a cell phone, and she still bought a gun.

Best answer yet to a question asked on this forum many times over the years.
