Um, no. It is not our job to "thank" our elected leaders. He isnt doing us a favor, he was hired for a job. Regardless, all he's done is talk so far and has now been backing down from his main tenants of a border wall, repeal obama care, and prosecuting Hillary. Thats just the first week.

I think trump could do some good with eliminating EO's from Obama, shifting the course of the ATF, Supreme Court, etc. My biggest concern is that he does not see himself as bound by the constitution. Sure we may get some wins for causes we support now, but he intends on doing it with EO's, using federal money as ransom against the states, etc. We do nothing to limit the power of the Federal Gov. we only shift its focus against our opponents for a few years while its power grows. Then, when the next leftist gets elected, they have even greater power to swing back around.

Im hopeful for Trump but I dont trust that he knows or will fight to regain and maintain our liberty.

He just did us a big favor whether you want to recognize it or not because he didn't give in and he didn't give up. Where exactly have you seen he is not repealing Obamacare? The Republican bill that was vetoed by Obama already included those two provisions. His list of replacement judges for the federal bench have already been highly touted by the NRA.
He can do a lot but he can't do everything. One reason is he does not have sixty votes in the Senate so any bill has to have some Democratic support.

Many of us saw the outgoing President as behaving in increasing tyrannical ways over the past 8 years. His actions caused a lot of anger and apprehension within the RKBA community. Some of us even made remarks about “second amendment solutions,” and these remarks were condemned by the media and the left at large as outright threats to violently overthrow the government. Something they would never do, of course, being the peace-loving champions of non-violence and public safety they believe themselves to be.

I’ve always been amazed at the ease with which some people are able to abandon their principles when those principles are no longer compatible with their desired outcomes. I say this because many of the changes that are bound to be made over the next couple of years by the Trump administration are going to be more than some on the left will be able to bear. Lacking any legislative power or political capital whatsoever, anger and desperation on their side will only intensify as the political beatings continue.

While it’s not likely, it’s also not inconceivable that some of them may actually resort to armed violence as they attempt to respond to the tyranny they will perceive from the Trump administration. Convinced they lack any other means to address their grievances, might some of them become newly enamored with 2A as the legal justification for their own acts of insurrection? This might not be as laughable as it seems, if they really come to feel that desperately. How would we react to such an “exercise of 2A rights,” were it to occur on any meaningful scale? “Bring it on?” More importantly, though, how would the Trump administration react?
