i would assume most celebs are die hard anti's but does anyone know of any celebs that are thought to be pro-gun? i think i read somewhere that steven segal applied for a CCW permit. im not 100% sure about that though.

Just because they own or carry a gun doesn't necessarily make them pro-gun. The phrase 'liberal elite' was coined for a reason. They can easily find themselves very worthy of the ability to protect themself, but all for dissarming us serfs so that we don't hurt ourselves (or them, right?).

I can recall stories but not names of various anti-gun politicians and spearhead leaders who also bought guns and/or carried them.

Didn't expect Carey or Russel! Sources?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kurt_Russell

"Russell is a prominent member of the United States Libertarian Party. He claims that he was often an outcast in Hollywood because of his Libertarian beliefs and so moved to an area outside Aspen, Colorado, to live and try writing (he co-wrote Escape from L.A.)."

And http://www.suntimes.com/output/entertainment/cst-ftr-kurt20.html

"We had some nice people on that set who were politically very liberal. And gun control was always a strong issue with them. Well, then the L.A. riots come and these same people are calling me asking, 'Do you have any guns?'

"And I said, 'I'd love to help you out, but they're all being used.' Those people, suddenly, really realized what it's like to be in that ghetto every day. It's just about survival. It's just about getting through the day. Any way you can do it, you do it. And suddenly that Second Amendment made some sense during that rough moment."

I can't find any specific links on Drew but I know he's a active registered Libertarian.

AMC did a really interesting special on conservatives in Hollywood called "Rated 'R': Republicans in Hollywood." They interviewed Drew Carey and he explicitly said that he owned firearms and supported people's right to own guns.

Quoted from another topic:

I saw an episode of his show recently where he was showing off his easy chair.. He lifted up each armrest, and on one side was, IIRC, some cigars, brandy and the like, the other side had a remote control or some other tools, and a pistol (PPK, sig p-230 or similar)..

He pointed to first to the cigars and such and said, "Pleasure."

Then he pointed to the other side with the pistol and said, "Business."

He then pointed DIRECTLY at the pistol and repeated, louder, "BUSINESS!"

bruce willis. my doctor knows him and they are both very conservative republicans. from what i hear, he likes guns.

Penn from Penn & Teller is a libertarian, so I assume he is at least not an anti-gun celeb.

James Hetfield from Metallica is into guns and hunting.

Hank Williams Jr.

The Mandrell Sisters- Barbara, Louise, and Irlene.

Chuck Norris, Jerry Mathers, and Eric Estrada have been sighted and photoed shooting sporting clays at Louis Mandrell's celebrity shoots.

interesting most in music are listed as "singer" the Nudg is "rock star"!

Laura Prepon from "that 70's show" is into guns. I read an interview with her where she talked about it, and also mentioned that her manager had "asked her to keep quiet about guns". :banghead:

Milla Jovavich(actress,model) likes 'em.

I don't have a source for this last one, other than my own feelings based on song lyrics. Trace Atkins(country singer) has a song which includes the following line:"Yeah, that's a real gun. No, I don't have a permit for it! You got a permit to ask stupid questions?"
I'm guessing, from that, and from his attitude in interviews I have seen, that he's pro 2nd.

Sarah Michelle Gellar - Buffy - said progun things

It just doesn't matter if there are pro-gun celebrities out there. Aside from Tom Selleck, Ted Nugent, Charleton Heston, Hank Jr., and a handful of others (and these folks are worthy of our respect), most celebrities simply don't let their views be widely known, therefore, they don't help the RKBA cause at all. In fact, someone mentioned the show about Hollywood conservatives; it's pretty clear that making known conservative (not even pro-gun) beliefs can have an adverse affect on an actor's career. If an actor or other type of celebrity is truly pro-gun, that should mean that person is doing something for the cause. Simply owning firearms doesn't make them "pro-gun."

This country has a huge problem with the phenomenon of celebrity worship. Frankly, some of us just don't care who's sleeping with who, or who believes what, since 99.999% of the time, it has zero affect on our lives. Did Kobe do it? Did Blake kill her? Is Michael a gay child-abuser? Does Kurt like guns? It's all just mindless, idiotic crap to keep our minds off of the real problems of the world.

Amen!

"Arnold Schwarznegger- Actor"

Pro gun? After banning the ownership or transfer of any new .50BMG rifles in California? (Cops and crooks excepted, as always.)
