Wayne Chiang, a 2006 Virginia Tech graduate and gun collector, was wrongly accused of being the shooter Monday due to his pictures of rifles on facebook. He received death threats over it before the truth came out.

What I really respect is that Chiang used his 15 minutes in the media light to educate the public. He stressed that if Virginia Tech students were allowed to carry concealed on campus, the outcome on Monday could have been different.

+1 Someone buy that man something for being so understanding of his situation and people's reactions, and articulately explaining his position.

what Im surprised is that they actually reported that part. Rather then just the "hey yeah I was the scape goat I'm glad soem people were able to vent but yeah it wasn't me so yall can stop sending me death threats now" segment. Out of CNN this really surprises me. Maybe they didn't quiet like how he put it though since they didn't show that footage and just reported his view.

Someone else already said it but how stupid do you have to be to give death threats to someone when the person you think it is is already dead?

I too hope that Wayne is using his 15 minutes to educate people, and I hope that Geraldo is getting a serious reprimand for wrongly accusing him on national television.

he's an idiot who upon realizing he was being linked incorrectly to this thing, sat by hoping to gain an uptick in visitors to his site that he could then make a couple of bucks from to donate to charity. your name gets linked to something like this and you know you're not involved, the sensible thing to do is immediately say "i'm not the dude!" i applaud his stance on the right to KBA, but seriously question his judgment in how he handled the initial accusation.

I like what Wayne Chiang said to the reporter, too bad they didn't put it in the clip. He said," I think students should be allowed to carry a concealed weapon on campus. If just one person had a CCW the outcome could have been very different,"

I highly and totally agree.
