Anybody else had problems with Wideners lately? A quick search on THR lead me to believe they're a great company to deal with, but nothing recent. So I ordered a set of reloading dies and one 50ct box of bullets, both in stock. Today is 9 calender days later and when I called to ask what the status of my order was the guy said that they were just behind, and it would be shipped out "sometime early this week". Stuff I ordered the same day from Midway was on my doorstep 2 days later which is the norm for them. Did i just have an "out of the blue" bad experience with Widerners? I'll probably try them once more in a month or so to make sure.

I have ordered from both places you mentioned. I have had both quick and slow delivery from both. I don't think either of them has bad service, in fact I think both have excellent service. Sometimes stuff just happens. I would just be patient. If I order something that I need that is time sensitive, I spend the extra and get rush shipping. Hope it shows up for you soon.

I only know what it says on their home page:

"Current Shipping Delays are to be Expected: 5-6 Days business days!"

Every year about this time I assume everyone has gone to the Shot Show. Or gone hunting.

Well, less than an hour after my post, the mail came and the package from Wideners was included. I'm trying to call them to let them know that, and that they might have a bug in their system since I didn't get an email that it had shipped (which is what the confirmation email said would happen), and was told my order would be shipped out shortly. For some reason their phone system goes to the "we are closed" routine though. Thanks for the replies

Glad that your concern was resolved.

I've always found their orders to be shipped promptly and complete. They are a good company to use.

I still have listed in my account an order marked as "processing", that was delivered almost a year ago. Never did get a "it's shipped" confirmation, and even when there were no warnings about slowdowns at the site, my order took 10 days to get to me from the order date. It's a neat place, but they obviously have problems with some aspects of the business... Also don't like that they charge your card immediately, then you wait 7 or so days until the order ships.

Every time I have ordered from them it was shipped out within 24 hrs. This as mainly primers and powder.

Atleast the orders are being processed and shipped even though there systems is not updating. Send them a email if you can't get through on the phone. This will alert them as to where they need to be looking to correct the problem.

I've bought lots of stuff from Widener's, and never had a problem. They're not very advanced technologically, and they usually seem to be behind on shipping. Periods of heavy orders overwhelm them, and they've even been known to take their phone number off the web site.

I don't mind, because their prices are great, and they always delivered whatever I bought from them. Just takes them a little longer to process and ship. I'm OK with these delays since I know about them based on prior experience.

A slightly slow delivery time is not a "problem" IMO yet you said you are having a "bad experience with Widerner's" Like said above, Shot Show 2012 was right in there and many in the industry attend. Also like said above, I have had quick and slow deliveries from most dealers I've used. The fact they warned you of the slight backlog on their WEB site would indicate good service rather than bad service.

After contemplating it for some time I was spurred on by Midway's "Birthday Pricing" and ordered a Bar-Sto semi drop in barrel in .38 Super for my 9mm Commander.
Of course I also needed dies and a couple of magazines. I also ordered 500 cases from Starline.
Received the Midway order very promptly, as usual. The semi drop in barrel was NOT drop in, so off to Bar-Sto yesterday. Looking at the dies (Lee) I found that the shellholder was not in the box. Called and talked to a young lady who said she would get it right in the mail. It showed as shipped yesterday, but what was shipped was a case length gauge and shellholder set. Sent e-mail stating it was the wrong part but received one back affirming that what was shipped was what I needed. Oh well, when it arrives I will try again!
As to the Starline brass, I first changed my address on their website, then tried to place my order. Would get down to the last button and it would say that I had to select the shipping method. Right above that message was the box where the shipping method WAS selected. Tried about a dozen times with the same results, so I called in my order. The lady said they would ship quickly. They did. Got my FedEX tracing info and they has shipped immediately--to my old address, 75 miles away. Since I am not there FedEX will eventually take them back to their depot, an additional 40 miles away. Guess they will eventually get back to Starline. Sent them an e-mail last night. And my correct address IS on their website.
I guess I will get to anticipate this project awhile longer.
Stuff just happens. Another way I know that is that my wife has been lying in the hospital and SNF since Dec. 16 with two broken legs. Just coming home from swimming at the Y when someone made an illegal left turn right in front of her. My problems are pretty simple (just have to wait) compared to hers.
Long way to say shipping and other things don't always run smoothly.

Well,I'm on day number 8 with my order from Wideners and starting to wonder too.Always got stuff from them in a couple days.Must be having some kind of problems there, cause it's never taken this long.

I too sell reloading supplies online and I can say that sometimes things just take time to get packaged up and sent out. This time of year is crazy busy for us and even my delivery times are slowing down a little. My biggest problem right now is that there aren't enough of the bullets I sell to keep me in stock for long. I buy them as soon as they are available but it seems like they are mostly gone within a couple days or so. I can usually get more, but it means that sometimes people will have to wait a couple more days before I can fill their orders. I suggest that you just be patient and let them try to fill your order. Wideners is one of my competitors but I am not afraid to say that they are a good company that probably just has some extra orders that were in line before you.
