A while ago I added the auto case feeder from Dillon to my RL550b which I have owned new since the late 80's. With the auto case feeder I ran into a situation that never occurred with the manual feed. You have to remove the clip (bent paperclip) that holds the brass in station 1 to use the auto feed system but I find that too often the brass case backs out of alignment with the size die while running the ram up and it just comes to an abrupt stop hitting the die. This is very annoying and you have to push the brass in a small amount with a pencil or something to get it lined up. also on priming you sometimes have to push the brass into the shellplate a bit to get the primer pocket lined up. I hurt my right thumb in an accident some years ago and find it painful to manually feed the brass into the 550 after a little while. When all goes well it's a great addition to the reloader but this problem is annoying. Anyone else have this problem and what did you do to remedy it? The press is on a strong mount and is level, also with the roller handle. This Happens in all pistol calibers that I reload both with dillon and other brands of dies. I Also called Dillon several times on this issue, made sure its level and shellplate is not loose, and changed out the base that the handle goes into as well as the corresponding pin but still the problem persists. It did resolve some wobble I was getting at the top of the ram when using the press.
Any help or suggestios are welcome.

I would also ask this question at Brian Enous fourm. I had read over there some where that many place washers under the press between the press and strong mount on the right side to tilt the press.

I don't have a casefeed on my 550, but on the 650 the case will "jump" back a bit if the case insert slide cam is over adjusted.

OK thanks to both of you. I will try the other forum and maybe try the washers and see if it helps.

Just curious, but have you asked Dillon about it? I have called them in the past about my 550b, and they have always had the right answer for me. They know their stuff!

Yes I have asked Dillon and just finished looking over the Brian Enos forum. I have one or two more tweaks I can try and also need to call dillon anyway on a different matter. I will ask about the problem some more.
