Glock article.

I have to admit, the Gen 4 I put in hand last week felt a lot better than the '95 "no clue which model but full sized" one I held last (my last slide bite too).

My weird, bulgy, mashed main hand however sat with the joint of my thumb squarely behind the slide by about 1/8th of an inch. Bone-slide-bite guaranteed. I need to get to a range that has one and a clip-on beavertail before I can have any opinion as to how they shoot.

Can't complain the grips suck anymore though, not perfection, but improved.

Glock more accurate slogan "Working towards perfection!" ?

To be fair though, anytime you deal in absolute statements, you attract smart-alecs and exceptions like hornets to a BBQ.

Glock, and just about every other firearms manufacturer selling in the USA in the past year can make this claim. It's just been a banner year+ for firearms sales, period.

GEN4 doesn't count.

GEN4 doesn't count.

I agree... its clearly due to global warming.

However according to the press release....

Glock claims it Gen 4 did count. Maybe only the good ones count?

Id like to see some stats on their claimed gained market share. Sure, they got a few more LEA contracts but they also lost some too. With out it I just chalk it up to typical corporate press release puffery.

As stated above, just about every gun mfg can make very similar claims.

I agree with Reaper. Gen 4 doesn't count :D

I've seen too many issues with them thus far. I'll stick to the proven Gen 3 for now.

Glock has good marketing, but I don't think much of their guns. In my opinion there's lots of better options out there. I've seen too many injuries resulting from their underdesigned guns that have the bare minimum of material necessary to safely fire the round under ideal conditions. Fact is, Glock cuts corners. They've always cut corners. Most of the time they work just fine, but when something unexpected happens they go BOOM.

All the Gen4's up here work fine.

I've got a feeling that the Gen 4 19/17 won't like wimpy 9mm, +p should be fine. Thats my guess. The Gen4 G22 works fine. First G22 thats for sale for under $600 I'm grabbing.

I like the new texture. The Gen3 Glock and Kahr type grip side textures don't work. Hopefully they'll offer fatter backstraps, maybe the after market will come out with backstrap options.

My Gen4 G17 has about 900rnds so far, with no signs of abnormal wear. Looks like the new recoil system may be rubbing the barrel wrong in that photo, or maybe not seating properly and gouging the frame. I have seen something similar when running aftermarket recoil systems in the G26/27 too. But something isn't right when it's the factory setup causing such issues. They changed the entire recoil spring system for the Gen4 and likely some growing pains may be part of the package, just like some early samples of the G36 when it first hit the market. Glock isn't perfect, but I think the 3rd Gen pistols are darn close...

Glock haters can claim many things, however claiming Glock "cuts corners" is simply asinine. Glock uses only the highest quality materials and manufacturing methods. That is unarguable.

Self Proclaimed Perfection.

They wont hear a word against themselves.

Maybe their success is going to their heads.
