ouch, sorry to hear it.

ive got a barrel vice block and an upper receiver block.

they go in a vice and cradle either the upper, or the barrel.

they are sometimes incredibly tight, as you have already found out.

if i remember right, on a perticularly tough one, i used a box end wrench with a cheater bar on the flash hider, and a chain wrench on the barrel, with a cheater, with leather under the chain wrench.

most others i have removed just clamping the upper in a vice block

If that doesn't work you could put some oil or PB Blaster on it and heat cycle it a few times to get the lube leached in. Reapply while still warm. Due to ammo cost and availability a heat gun or oven is a reasonable alternative to shooting.
If using a torch, not recommended due to likelyhood of uneven and/or too rapid heating, heat the flash hider and not the barrel directly. And keep the flame low, or a few inches away for non-adjustable torches.

Put the upper in a receiver block. Take an armorer's wrench and turn. Or take a wrench and turn. There should only be 15lbs of torque on the flash suppressor if properly installed.

Thanks for the info guys. I made sure it wasnt welded or pinned. I called Del-ton and they use blue lock tite.

I would suggest, as suggested above, that you use a heat gun for more even heat distribution and a slower heat rise rate.... if the propane is all you have, be very careful with it, as it can heat your barrel well beyond what it is intended to endure....

Lucky for me, my flash suppressor just unscrewed like it should....
