Pro barrel isn't chome lined, which makes it more accurate, just that it will wear out sooner if you run many thousands of rnds thru it, plus it will break in faster and shoot better for it, like most American guns.
Pro that stock is a bit too tight when new, and will work in as you use the gun.
Con, the night sites are likey dead and broken, and seemingly finding replacements is hard to do, but I could be wrong.
The leather on the frog may be rotted as new old stock (not a big deal)
I have also 2 SAR-1' with that chrome bore, and I tend to think the chrome while making the gun longer lasting, was more for peasants who would prefer to hang beads, and icons, on the gun rather than ever dream to clean it.
Americans on the other hand are probably guilty of wearing out more guns cleaning them, then any other peoples on earth.
No doubt I may be 0.01% of anyone that thinks no chome is a good thing.
