This comprehensive Police, Military and Civilian Training organization has been operating out of the Dallas-Ft Worth area and has now acquired an extensive range facility 20 miles east of Waco. The range includes a 1,000 yard range, eight separate enclosed bays 50-75 yards deep and a 147 yard rifle range. The facility hosts Texas State Rifle Assn. events, NRA long range matches, Cowboy Action Shooting as well as fulfilling contracts for Police and Military Training. The facility should be opening April 1 with individual memberships available.

The CEO is former San Diego Chargers/ Kansas City Chiefs star Ralph Stockemer. He is a skilled manager with many business interests.

I spent most of a day with Founder Chris Grollnek and Instructor John Tillman as they prepared for a Tactical Carbine class for security agents of Perot Systems. Grollnek has extensive experience as a Marine where he attained a Master Instructor rating.

Tillman was a marine sniper, team leader and instructor in urban sniper recon. I watched them provide an intro to the advanced carbine course to a couple of Perot Systems security team and basic instruction to the public school atheletic coach pictured below. They are capable, confident, friendly and very knowledible.

A number of course will be available. They are based upon practical applications for police, security and military rather than gamesmanship or competition and respresent the current state of the art. Course include basic and advanced pistol, carbine, long range rifle and use of the shotgun. Prices are very competitive compaired to those of the several academies around the country.

Extended range rifle facilities are not all that common and the ProTac team is dedicated to meeting training needs and serving the community with an accessible range. I expect that this will become a very well know operation.
