#1 I heard this gun can only shoot low grain because it damages the Receiver is this ture? I would have thought they could take high grain because its a AK built. If so what grain should you use for this rifle?

#2 Is $600-750 good for this rifle, as a "sniper rifle" does it shoot stright no problems? or would you recommend another rifle for this price range? I really like the look of it(ak family) I saw on J G you can get $560 then you add shipping and FFL but thats about $650 there

#3 Scope, how is the scope on it? How well does this basic scope on the gun works? max yards?? I really like the scope it has nobs to turn with numbers, My other scope's its not that simple..

other plus is that it shoots same as mosin nagant but I do not know if you could shoot surpplus to high of grain?

I came extremely close to buying one from J&G, but after really looking at the options went for something else. Here's why:
1. True, it can only handle low grain
2. It's not a "sniper" rifle per se. It's a 1-2 MOA rifle with the correct ammo at best. 300-400 yards is max for an 8" target.
3. Scope is fine for that range. I have a 6x24 POSP on my Saiga .308 and it can see better than the rifle can shoot past 300 yards.
4. The ammo is corrossive, so there is much more upkeep than with non-corrossive ammo
5. The barrel heats-up quickly which has a very detrimental effect on accuracy. Great that it's semi-auto, but if accuracy goes belly-up after 5 rounds in 60 seconds, why bother.
6. Quality varies..it's used, so....
7. I also almost went the CETME .308 route, but still didn't like the used angle, the Century angle and the various issues that you find disscussed on other threads
8. Decided on a Saiga .308. Not sexy (yet) but it's new, no issues other than a bad trigger, easy to fine ammo, low maintenance and I can still hit an 8" paper plate at 300yds with Brown Bear or Wolf and the price is down to around $525.00. Better rifle, less cost.
But, all that being said, that PSL is about the coolest looking rifle out there!

The heavy ball will cause the action to cycle too violently and batter the receiver. Use 147 gr. or equivalent.

#2 Is $600-750 good for this rifle,

yeah, as long as it has the scope

as a "sniper rifle" does it shoot stright no problems?

Not a sniper rifle. It's a DMR, and 2-3 MOA is the best you're likely to see with most ammo.

or would you recommend another rifle for this price range?

Depends. For a full power .30 cal semi-auto, you're not gonna find much else under $1k

I really like the look of it(ak family) I saw on J G you can get $560 then you add shipping and FFL but thats about $650 there

And that is just the rifle. No accessories, no scope, one mag. Unless something's changed.

#3 Scope, how is the scope on it?

Mediocre, fine for < 200 yards. But often they are not matched to the rifles with the new civvie versions. Just thrown in the box. I hasd to use half of the windage adj. to zero mine.

If you want the rifle, get it. They're not that expensive. Just know what to expect. It will not perform like an SVD, M1A or AR-10

hmm sounds like psl is just looks not all shooting, You can shoot non-corrossive ammo but its not low grain :( Thanks for the input. I could just get a mosin nagant and put a nice scope $250 or less. But it shoots corrossive.... Should just save the money for something else.

Thanks!

corrosive is fine, so long as you clean the rifle. And not just swab the barrel; you gotta get it out of the gas port and tube and off the piston
