PT1911 with XS Big Dot Tritium sight

It took about a week and now my PT1911 has a XS Big Dot front sight. I'll get to the range ASAP and let you know how it shoots, I already know I like the way it looks ALOT better than the original sight.

Hey let me know how that works out. Proud ownder of PT1911 and I like the straight 8's but want to upgrade with tritium or meprolight as well.

What did you give for the new ones?

This is a prototype that XS has installed for me, and they're still working on the project. That's more positive info. than I've heard from other sight companies so far.
It shot low at 15 yrds but they included a short and a tall along with the medium rear sight that they installed so I'll put the tall in sometime soon and retest with the hand loads that I use.

i hope you ae happy with them. i had a set on a glock 19 that i used to own and they were awesome. i pefer three dot night sights for more precision shoting but to tell you the truth i was suprised by how good they through the rds into groups on several occasions. it was like i pointed the gun in the spot and bang and the rds went where i wanted them everytime, it was so easy it felt funny.

i believe they are great for cqb type applications carry and hd when shots are gonna be close in, but even if the target gets a little out there it can be hit quickly and accuratly. ihave been thinking about getting a set to put on my kahr k-40 and my xd sc .40 they are my primary carry guns and they would benifit from them i believe. on a 1911 that is just cool.

You need to put in the short to make it shoot higher.

I had a LPA adjustable rear sight installed to make better use of my XS BigDot front sight. It shoots REAL nice.

Does the XS sight use the same dove tails as the original?
My CD Hi-power has the XS sights from the factory. And I'm thinking of changing them to a 3 dot set up. It would be nice to just be able to put on a set on Novak's and not have to have the slide re-cut

Any chance you could post some pics of the new sights? I've considered swapping the sights out on my PT1911 as well, like to see the results!
