Public support for laws governing the sale of firearms

These latest polls (Rasmussen did one, too)--all done since the presidential election--now number about eight, and cover various firearms topics. In all of them, there has been declining support for "gun control", and increasing support for pro-gun positions.

Although Rasmussen polls seem to be more accurate in reflecting the complete range of the general public, the Gallup polls tend to have higher recognition and MSM coverage. They are, however, a "Democrat" polling operation; IOW, liberal bias. Therefore, their reports are the ones I like to watch--e.g., if they report a decline, we can be sure it is even more of a 'real' decline than Gallup reported.

Here is the link to the comparable Rasmussen poll done at the same time.

Among its conclusions:

50% oppose stricter gun control laws. (The headline)

26% of those surveyed are following the handgun ownership / city regulation very closely.

They present different statistical "facts" as well--it's worth a read.
