Push Feed Bolt Actions

I dunno guys. When it comes to jams, it is so hard to make any action foolproof, as fools are so plentiful and they are resourceful!

You can jam either one of these actions if you try, or if you manipulate it incorrectly. But a properly designed push feed is a great action, and a properly designed CRF is also a great action. They both get the job done. I will offer an observation that may or may not hold water, but when one sees a rifle which is shooting outstanding groups, typically is is not CRF. Often it is a solid tubular action like that single shot Savages or the Palma "Swing" type actions.

Some people like dark chocolate some milk chocolate.

Somewhere I saw a video of a guy feeding his push feed AI AW rifle upside down, and no misfeeds in 10 rounds. That is an example of a properly designed push feed action.

Be happy!

Zak Smith made a video showing how reliable AI's feed upside down.

He also published a video showing a Winchester with CRF experiencing a double feed under "real world" conditions (fourth shooter laying on dirt wearing green webbing). Zak's comment is "That was a Winchester action built into a match gun, with some sort of DBM system fitted. The problem was a double-feed along with other mistakes. I don't know if it was a new or old Winchester action."
