Anyone have a ballpack figure on what a Blued Python cylinder might cost?

My Python was bought used and then I noticed that one of the cylinders notches is quite a bit bigger than the others (from wear?). So in double action it skips or overshoots that hole. It works fine in single action.

Should I send it to Colt? Or just get the part and have a gunsmith fit it?

DO NOT let a local gunsmith do it.

One reason for the Python's quality and accuracy is the care of which a cylinder is fitted.
I can pretty well guarantee you that if you use a local gunsmith, the job will NOT be done "right".

Right now, getting a new cylinder may be tough, since the Python is temporarily out of production until next year.

For that reason Colt MAY not have one in stock.

Here's what I suggest.
First, contact Colt to find out if they have cylinders in stock. If they do, send it to them for the best work.

If they don't, ask if they will fit a NEW cylinder supplied by you.
If they will, buy a new cylinder assembly from Gun Parts Corporation:

If Colt can't take care of you, contact:
Pittsburgh Handgun Headquarters
1330 Center Ave.
Pittsburgh, PA 15229
(412) 766-6100

Pittsburgh used to be Colt's overflow for factory warranty repairs, and they do factory-level work.
They have parts, and MAY have a cylinder.
Ask them the same questions you ask Colt: Do they have cylinders, will they fit one you supply, Etc?

Likely, either Colt or Pittsburgh can fix you up, and will do it RIGHT.
