$1,600 to $1,800 probably won't even get you a starting bid on a genuine 3" bright nickel Python.
These are super rare and super wanted by a lot of people. I've seen them sell for over $8,000.
The Blue Book lists a 3" bright nickel at $7,000 NIB and this is out of date low by now.
I hate to be a doubting Thomas, but without an inspection, the Colt letter "writer" could be wrong (Colt might have it listed as a 3" in their records, but it might be in error). I'm sure it probably is a 3", which might be $2.5K- $4K. How about a picture?
I'd be very wary of anyone offering a 3" Python and a genuine letter...There are alot of fakes out there. If it is is the real deal, it would go for $5k+.
