Southern bobwhite, I have since found after moving here, has very few "wild" opportunities anymore - from pesticides, raptors, predators, fire ants, and habitat loss, the only viable way is a preserve or release hunt.......Out West, the wild quail are still flourishing nicely and are a joy to hunt when you have a good dog....Quail are my personal favorite

Yes Dave i recognise the Franchi 48AL is more respected over in the states, here the vast majority of shooters would just dismis them as old hat long recoil /// No good i want a gas auto///. Even the Browning A5s are still on gunshop shelves for as little as 100 pounds.:)
I had that 48-AL offered to me by a friend who knew i wanted it, i swaped my old one (the one with the goose on the other thread) for a old posness waren 800B press in 12GA and a old savage turet type 12GA shotshell press. i was happy and he did not reload anymore.;), . so everyone is a winer, and yours truly gets a very clen gun he wont be selling ever:D
