Qualifier for PCCA

I hadn't ever heard of Pocket Carry competition, but it looks like fun. The first IDPA match I was in was for Back-Up Guns, but it required a minimum of .32 calibre, so the little .22s and .25s were left out.

The last string fired is incorrect. After watching this again, I checked with Dean just to make sure. The PCCA requires the firearm to be loaded with five rounds at the beginning of every stage. The reload, if any, allows you to reload to full mag capacity for insurance shots if you so choose.

The last string requires four rounds on each target. Since you are limited to five rounds you would place four rounds on a target, one on the other target, do a reload, and place three more on that target.

I enjoy it tremendously. May be its because I am competeing with a revolver. 1911s and SA revolvers have been my game for many years, but the wheel gun in competition is fun.

Tomorrow is the monthly match (also a warm up match) and the first PCCA Open Championship is next Saturday, the 16th.

Just caught your PCCA posting while searching some Dan Wesson threads. I went to the PCCA website and read the rulebook. Man, does that look like FUN! It also looks like something that I'd like to get involved with without all of the stuff that goes along with IDPA.

Heck, I already have a S&W Model 60 2" and a Dan Wesson 715 with a 2 1/2" (and 6") barrel, so I'm already set for both classes.

Hopefully, the PCCA will grow beyond North Carolina and make its way up to Michigan.

Start talking to the local clubs. Might tell them the owner of Caswell Ranch and the founder of PCCA is Dean Brevit. He was a SAS operator if that is a correct way of saying he was in the UK special forces. Dean is also a 5 gun Grand Master in IDPA. He also is an instructor for various groups which I call the alphabet people.
He knows of what he speaks. Dean purchased the property in north central NC a couple years back and has developed it into the place that is known as Caswell Ranch. Do a search and research.
We love the game and it has expanded to two times a month. 2nd Sunday and third Saturday.
