Occasionally Remington UMC is on sale in my area. I'd like to know if this stuff is dirty, groups poorly, or does anything untoward to guns.
Thanks.

It's cheap target ammo. I've shot a bunch of it and never had any problems, but I never go looking to buy UMC, if you know what I mean. If they've got a really great deal I might buy some, but I generally prefer WWB or Blazer.

Never had much luck with the 9mm in my CZ's. Many more failures-to-something compared to WWB or Blazer. White box still hangs up sometimes but generally works better.

Just blasted through 250 rounds of it yesterday with nary a hitch in my CZ-75. Like they said, if it's on sale go for it.

Remington UMC shoots better in my .45 than WWB. It's close, but it has been better for me. More accurate and cleaner. I try to pick some up whenever I can for range shooting.

I like UMC better than WWB, but they both work great in all my 9MM's including:

CZ-75B
CZ-75D PCR
P7 PSP
P7M8
BHP
Sig P228
Steyr M9
P-08 Luger

No worries, if you find it for a good price, buy it. The 250 round "mega packs" are usually a good deal around $30 in my area.

In my experience the UMC is just as good if not better than the white box USA in .45 ACP. The 9MM about equal and the UMC in both calibers is a few bucks cheaper in my area. Dirty?? You get residue from shooting period!!

Remington Express and UMC both shoot more accurately out of my Kahr PM9 than WWB, or other loads for that matter. I believe the ballistics are identical in 9mm 124gr for both the Express and UMC. In short, I think UMC is just as clean and accurate as most other rounds in 9mm.

After shooting 100 rounds of .38 through my S&W 66, I was surprised to find the gun far dirtier than after shooting any other ammo. If you clean your gun after every session, it won't matter. If you clean after, say, every presidential election, I'd stay away from it.

I like it so far, I've put about 150 rounds thru my springfield full size without a problem, I don't know about it being cleaner shooting but it is cleaner physically than the WWB, every box of that stuff I get has little flecks of brass and other manufacturing debris all over the shells.

Did you notice a ton more flash with the UMC over WWB in .38 Special? Didn't seem like any more kick, but the extra illumination surprised me a bit. They must use a slower powder than Winchester.

I like UMC in 9mm and .45 acp. I have also used in .38 special. It may be slightly dirtier than WWB, Blazer, or Blazer Brass. It performs just fine in my experience. I have shot a bunch of it in 9mm with good results. A friend who shoots it in .45 acp likes UMC better than other brands.

I really like the UMC brass for reloading if you are into that. If you are not into reloading, be sure to collect and pass the brass on to someone who does.
