Question about a hunting bullet for .223

I've taken deer with headshots with a 68 grain Hornady matchking. It literally turns the brain into a deep red jelly. And I've shot some Sierra 69 grain with mixed results. My AR likes the Hornady better.

But if you turn the brains to mush you can't use them to tan the hide.

Yeah, but when you DRT a deer like that, they don't even twitch and you don't have to worry about the meat being tough from running and lactic acid. It's all tender with little to no prep!!! Unless it's a very old and wise one. Then it's more about melding with the woods and wildlife than it is about the kill.
