Question about a Marlin Camp 45

Around my area I’ve seen them on internet sites listed for around $700. If they sell for that I don’t know.

I’ve heard anecdotal comments that they’re subject to breakage.

I’m holding out for the Ruger version

i have one new in the box, i paid 425.00 for it years ago. i replaced the recoil buffer and replaced the recoil spring with a 26 lbs one, they were-are the two main things to replace before shooting them. i plan on not shooting mine. i see them at 800-1000, but i don,t know if they are going for that price.

They are rare at the gun shows I've been to in the last few years--tags have had $700-800 on them. No idea how much wiggle-room are in those pricings.

There's demand greater than supply, which will argue for higher prices.

19 Aug 88, I paid $302 for my Camp Carbine. CPI calculator tells me that $302 is presently worth $686, so, there's maybe $50-100 of "scarcity value" in current prices.

Now, if Ruger brings out a new (improved, on supposes, too) Camp Carbine, those values may drop (other than the cachet for an 'original' Marlin).

Sort of related.... I have a single Marlin Camp Carbine MAGAZINE... which is of course a 1911 magazine. It it likely THE best or very near the top, of all the 1911 magazines I own. It's just weird. I don't know where I got it. It's a stainless mag, and it says Marlin on the side of it. I've had it for maybe 30 years and it has worked perfectly in probably 6 or 8 different 1911s.

Can't tell you the value, probably over 750, but what I will say is it's a seller's market and given all the PCC's coming out now the Marlin Camp Carbine is mostly a collectible that I don't see going up in value beyond the rate of inflation.
