Question for RC

I have a few 1911 slides with narrow tennone, afew front sigts with wide tennons. Is there any special trick then just opening the slot on center. Is there a tool (wizbang) that I may not know about The story is I have a bunch wide tennon front sight and narrow slides

Just a lot of work with needle files is all I know.

Might be way easier and less risky to file down the tennions on the sights to fit the slides.

DEFINITELY easier to file down the tenon on the sights to fit as needed.

For a while I bought only wide tenon blades so I'd be able to fit whatever came along. Taking down the tenon doesn't take long. They're generally soft - mild steel.
