I have a really old single shot 20g Springfield Arms shotgun. I recently broke it down for a good cleaning. If you look in the breach you can see the device that locks up the barrel for shooting. This "foot" (don't know the real name) is operated by the eject lever that opens the gun. When locked up, the "foot" pushes down on a lug on the base of the barrel and keeps the barrel locked for shooting.

If I operate the eject lever with the barrel out I can see the "foot" move. At the top of the foot is a small screw head. Anybody here know exactly what the little screw does?

That is what I was thinking but I didn't want to mess with it, just in case I was wrong and it was totally not an adjuster. :)

Wish I could, Dad, :D but the only camera I have is on my phone. I know it won't focus in on such a little detail.
