Little background, donor rifle was a Savage 116 in 30/06 converted to 300 WM. Using an MDT HS3 chassis and at the rear of the mag well part of the receiver extends into the mag well blocking the mag from seating. I appears that I will need to remove about .200"+/- from rear of opening of receiver. Before I start removing metal, is it common to have to open up the bottom of the receiver?
